WebHints: Authoring Tools

Here are some of the tools I use to create webs:

Photoshop: This is the ultimate image editing and manipulation software. Just buy it!

Graphic Converter: This is a great tool for converting between different image formats. It's also useful for editing images if you can't afford Photoshop.

Debabelizer: This is the ultimate image conversion tool. For example, you can feed in dozens of images and have them all converted to the Netscape colour cube. I haven't got Debabelizer yet.

FunnelWeb: FunnelWeb is a macro preprocessor tool which I use to prepare all my webs.

Veracity: Veracity is a tool that takes a snapshot of a directory tree, recording just the names and cryptographic hashes of the files. This snapshot can then be moved to different computer systems and used to test if other directory trees are the same. I used Veracity to ensure that the webs on my Macintosh are the same as the webs that are online on the disk of my Internet Service Provider Internode Professional Access. If ever I am sure whether I have neglected to upload some files I've changed, I can always check quickly using Veracity.
