Passive Web: Presents a menu of choices to the user, allowing the user to choose.
Active Web: Leads the user through page "tunnels" that contain few options at each step. Active webs constantly sell their users on the next action the user should be taking.
A properly constructed active web can lead the user into
a state of "flow" in which they become completely involved
in surfing the web.
