Step 17: Add Graphics To Splash Page
By now it should be clear that we could go on improving the Tarmac Travel web forever. All webs are like this, and it's important to know when to stop!
In the case of this Tarmac Travel web, obviously a lot more improvements could be made. However, we'll end this tutorial now by adding one finishing touch: an upgrade of the splash page.
To upgrade the splash page, we replace the text message with some graphics. To see the improvement, take a look at the Old Splash Page and then the New Splash Page.
Here's how the new splash images were created.
Splash Text "Are you ready to hit the tarmac?" Font=Mook 24pt, AntiAlias, Colour=Black Font=Amco Display SSi, 24pt, Antialias, Colour=Black Alien.DropShadow(X=4,y=4,Blur=5,Opacity=60%,Colour=Black). Splash Iceberg Start with Corel Image 20002 Select a horizontal slice Expand with white Select the outer border Pixellate.Crystalize(Size=4) Alien.DropShadow(X=4,y=4,Blur=5,Opacity=60%,Colour=Black).
End Of The Tutorial
Well, that's the end of the tutorial. I hope that you've enjoyed seeing a web created from start to finish, and that you have learnt some useful tricks to apply in your own webs. The techniques described in this tutorial are far from the leading edge of web design, but they have been found to be quick and effective in practice.
